JrK Program

Young children learn through meaningful play and experimentation. Junior K students will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on and interactive play in a safe, non-threatening environment. Letter names and sounds will be introduced, as well as beginning mathematical concepts. In preparing for kindergarten, socializing and group activities are emphasized while students develop an understanding of structure and self-control in the classroom.

BIBLE – Walking with God and His People (Christian Schools International)

MATH – Saxon Pre-K (Houghton-Mifflin-Harcourt)

HANDWRITING – Handwriting Without Tears

Children engage in child-focused centers. Centers are planned experiences to support our curriculum, which give your children every opportunity to learn and grow through hands-on exploration.

Classroom Happenings:

JR K’s participate in various field trips throughout the year. Parents are encouraged to attend. Each fall we will visit the Louisburg Cider Mill. This fun day includes picking pumpkins, learning how apple cider is made, running through hay bales and enjoying a yummy cider donut snack. It is a great day to spend with other preschool friends.

There are many happenings planned through out the year for the preschoolers to enjoy. A Mother’s Day Tea, Cinco De Mayo celebration, and Meet the Teacher are just a few fun activities the JR K students participate in.

Preschool graduation is an event marking the next stage of their schooling. Students perform a graduation program and receive their diplomas. It is a special time as these children share what they want to do when they graduate from school, and we pray over them as they enter into the next stage of their schooling.
